Goblin Horde!! - Base Blank

First project of 2013. This is the base blank for a group of Goblins I plan to build. My goal will be to create a horde of these guys through simple variations for my new portfolio I'm working on. I'll be moving into sculpting tomorrow.

  1. Did you start with a base mesh in Max/Maya or did you just dive in and create this guy in Zbrush?

    Casey: I start in Zbrush using Dynamesh for a rough sculpt to establish proportions and general style. I then retopo and take it into 3dsMax. In Max, I refine the mesh for clean subdivisions and build his clothing and accessories. Next step will be to take it back into Zbrush for final sculpt. Sounds like a lot of steps but it's actually fairly quick and flexible. I could work off of the dynamesh sculpt without retopo but I prefer a nice subdivided mesh.
